Just as a lamp leaves no room for darkness, keeping the name of Nārāyaṇa close leaves no room for worry, and that is wealth and provision enough for this world and the next.
The verse
दीप न देखे अंधारा । आतां हें चि करा जतन ॥१॥ नारायण नारायण । गांठी धन बळकट ॥ध्रु.॥ चिंतामणीपाशीं चिंता । तत्वता ही नयेल ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे उभयलोकीं । हे चि निकी सामोग्री ॥३॥
Literal translation
Dīpa — na dēkhē — andhāra. Jatana. Nārāyaṇa-Nārāyaṇa — gānṭhī-dhana — baḷakaṭa. Cintāmaṇī-pāśī — cintā — tatvatā — won't-come. Tuka says: ubhaya-lōkī — nikī sāmōgrī.

For someone today
Wherever a lamp burns, darkness cannot stay; in the same way, wherever you keep the name of Nārāyaṇa close, worry cannot settle in. Tukaram says tie that name into your heart the way people once tied their savings into a knot in their cloth for safekeeping — no thief can reach it, and no anxiety can survive near it. A wish-fulfilling jewel doesn't merely grant wishes, its presence itself dissolves worry, and the divine name works the same way. This isn't provision for one life only; Tukaram calls it the one supply you need ready and packed for both this world and whatever comes after.
