Abhanga 892
Move quickly and claim your share now, and be willing to bear a little jolt, because a coward who cannot take one push will never reach real joy.
The verse

Take-share-quick-claim. Take yourvāṇṭaquickly!; falling-behind, you'll staydurī; thebharōvarī(the press / rush at the distribution) has happened; others are taking thesāra. Hurry-or-others-will-take-the-essence. (Image of a public-distribution, perhaps free-anna or free-prasāda — first-come-first-served.)
-
Many-deluded-don't-know-time-claim. So-manybhāmāvalī(deluded by samsāra); don't know thesamaya (the right-time);bearing the māthā-bhāra (the head-burden of samsāra).Many-bewildered-don't-know-it's-time.

Tuka says: get-out,laṇḍī!;one dhakā (shock, push) you can't bear;then how will you reach this sukha?If-you-can't-bear-one-push-no-sukha-for-you. For someone today
Tukaram pictures a crowded distribution, the kind where free food or grace is being given out and everyone is pressing forward, and he tells you to take your share quickly, because if you hang back you will simply stay far away while others carry off the best of it. So many people are deluded by ordinary life, he says, carrying its burden on their heads without even realizing this is the moment to act. His advice is urgent and physical: run, move fast, and whatever you manage to gather into the fold of your cloth is truly yours. Then he turns and rebukes the timid one directly, calling him a coward, because if you cannot bear even one push or jolt in the crowd, you will never reach the joy on the other side of it.
