उचित जाणावें मुख्य धर्म आधीं । चित्तशुद्ध बुद्धी ठायीं स्थिर ॥१॥ न घलावी धांव मनाचिये ओढी । वचन आवडी संताचिये ॥२॥ अंतरीं या राहे वचनाचा विश्वास । न उगे उपदेश तुका म्हणे ॥३॥
Literal translation
English: Ucita — mukhya dharma — first. Citta-śuddha — buddhi — steady. Mana-ōḍhī — don't-run. Vacana — āvaḍī — santa. Antara — vacana-viśvāsa — stays. Not — ugē — upadeśa — Tuka says.

The na ugē upadeśa (upadeśa doesn't sprout) is the precise sprouting-image*.
