This chance to turn toward the divine may never come again and is not yours to summon at will, so act now, because your present actions, unlike your fixed past, still shape what comes next.
The verse
ऐसे पुढती मिळतां आतां । नाहीं सत्ता स्वतंत्र ॥१॥ म्हणउनि फावलें तें घ्यावें । नाम गावें आवडी ॥ध्रु.॥ संचित प्रारब्ध गाढें । धांवे पुढें क्रियमाण ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे घुबडा ऐसें । जन्म सरिसे शुकराचें ॥३॥

Aisē — miḷatām — ātām — sattā svatantra — none. Phāvalē — ghyāvē — nāma — āvaḍī. Samcita-prārabdha — gāḍhē — kriyamāṇa — runs. Tuka says: ghubaḍā — śukara — sarisē.

For someone today
Tukaram warns that a chance like this one, this meeting, this opening toward the divine, may not come around again, and you have no independent power to summon it back at will. So take what has been given to you right now, and sing the Name with real love while you can. He points out that what you have already accumulated and what is set to play out from your past, samcita and prarabdha, is already fixed and deeply set, but your current actions, kriyamana, keep running ahead and shaping what comes next. If you squander this opening instead of acting, he says bluntly, you risk a birth as low as an owl's or a pig's. The teaching is simple: this moment of opportunity is not guaranteed to return, so use it now.
