Your true worth does not change just because others misjudge you from the outside or a rumor spreads louder; a diamond stays a diamond no matter how many voices call it glass.
The verse
न मनावी चिंता तुम्हीं संतजनीं । हिरा स्पटिकमणी केंवि होय ॥१॥ पडिला प्रसंग स्तळा त्या सारिखा । देखिला पारिखा भाव कांहीं ॥ध्रु.॥ बहुतांसी भय एकाचिया दंडें । बहुत या तोंडें वचनासी ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे नाहीं वैखरी बा सर । करायाचे चार वेडे वेडे ॥३॥

Cintā — santa-jana — none. Hīrā — spaṭika-maṇī — none. Prasanga — staḷā. Pārikhā — bhāva. Daṇḍa — tōṇḍa — vacana. Tuka says: vaikharī — sara — none. Cāra — vēḍē.

For someone today
When people gossip about you or misjudge you, remember that a diamond does not turn into a piece of glass just because someone mistakes it for one. Tukaram tells the saints not to worry, because what others see is shaped only by the situation and their own limited, outward view; they have not seen what is inside. Fear spreads because many people echo one person's judgment, so a rumor grows louder with every mouth that repeats it, not because it becomes any truer. Tukaram even admits his own tongue is not fully under his control, and says such loud, showy behavior belongs to fools, not to someone secure in who they are.
मराठी: लोक तुमच्याबद्दल गप्पा मारतात किंवा गैरसमज करून घेतात, तेव्हा लक्षात ठेवा की कोणी हिऱ्याला काचेचा तुकडा समजलं म्हणून हिरा काही काचेचा होत नाही. तुकाराम संतांना सांगतात, काळजी करू नका, कारण इतरांना जे दिसतं ते फक्त परिस्थिती आणि त्यांच्या मर्यादित, बाह्य नजरेतून दिसतं; त्यांनी आतलं काही पाहिलेलं नसतं. एकाच्या भीतीमुळे अनेकजण घाबरतात, आणि प्रत्येक तोंड ती गोष्ट पुन्हा सांगत गेलं की अफवा अधिकच मोठी होत जाते, ती खरी आहे म्हणून नव्हे. तुकाराम स्वतः कबूल करतात की त्यांची स्वतःची जीभही पूर्णपणे त्यांच्या ताब्यात नाही, आणि असले भपकेबाज चाळे मूर्खांचे असतात, स्वतःवर विश्वास असलेल्या माणसाचे नव्हे.
