Tuka boldly accuses God of stirring up human restlessness like a game, just to display and grow His own greatness.

उगें चि हें मन राहातें निश्चळ । तरि कां तळमळ साट होती ॥१॥ काय तुमचीं नेणों कवतुक विंदानें । सर्वोत्तमपणें खेळतसां ॥ध्रु.॥ नानाछंदें आम्हां नाचवावें जीवां । वाढवाव्या हांवा भलत्यापुढें ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे तुम्ही आपुली प्रतिष्ठा । वाढवावया चेष्टा करीतसां ॥३॥

Ugē — niścaḷa — taḷamaḷa-sāṭa. Kavatuka-vindāna — sarvōttama. Nānā-chandē — jīva — dance — hāvā. Tuka says: pratiṣṭhā — cēṣṭā.

For someone today
Tukaram makes a bold, half-teasing accusation: if the mind could just stay still, why would this restless anguish keep piling up? He suspects God is playing some kind of game, showing off as the Supreme One, making our hearts dance to all sorts of tunes and stoking our longing before everyone. Tuka says outright that this playacting is meant to build up God's own prestige. It is a startlingly frank complaint, that God actually seems to enjoy, even engineer, our restlessness.
