Abhanga 962
After long devotion, Tuka claims the boldness to hold God to His own word, and finds his true foothold in realizing his innermost self and God are not separate.
The verse

For someone today
Tukaram declares a startling kind of spiritual boldness: after all his devotion, he says he has grown strong enough to hold God to His own promises, using God's own words as leverage. What is done is done, he says, the past is behind, but now the devotee knows exactly where God's vulnerable points are. To break free of all these games and tricks, he wants only to stand purely, awake and honest, beside what is pure. In the end, Tuka says his only real foothold is his own true self, and that true self and God turn out to be the same thing.
