Tukārām confronts God to honor the promise of saving the fallen, and offers his own body and pride as the ultimate proof of surrender.

तुम्हां होईल देवा पडिला विसर । आम्हीं तें उत्तर यत्न केलें ॥१॥ पतितपावन ब्रीदें मिरविसी । याचा काय देसी झाडा सांग ॥ध्रु.॥ आहाच मी नव्हें अर्थाचें भुकेलें । भलत्या एका बोलें वारेन त्या ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे देह देईन सांडणें । सहित अभिमानें ओवाळूनि ॥३॥

Paḍilā visara — Dēva. Uttara — yatna. Patita-pāvana — brīda — jhāḍā. Āhāca — arthā — bhukēla. Bhalatyā — bōla — vārēna. Tuka says: dēha — sāṇḍaṇē — abhimāna — ōvāḷūni.

(Final-ultimatum: I will toss-the-body-and-abhimāna-aside in a final ovāḷaṇī. For someone today
Tukaram confronts God directly, saying He must have forgotten His promise, even though Tuka has done everything he could on his end. God is known by the title 'savior of the fallen' — Tuka demands He make good on that reputation and settle the account. He insists he isn't stubbornly demanding wealth; a single word of reassurance would be enough to satisfy him. But if that word doesn't come, Tuka declares he is ready to give up his very body, offering it along with all his pride as a final, complete surrender.
मराठी: तुकाराम थेट देवाला सामोरे जाऊन म्हणतात की देवाला आपले वचन विसरले असावे, तरीही तुकांनी आपल्या बाजूने सर्व प्रयत्न केले आहेत. देवाला 'पतितपावन' म्हणजे पतितांचा उद्धारक ही पदवी आहे - तुका त्या नावाला साजेसे वागून हिशोब चुकता करण्याची मागणी करतात. ते सांगतात की आपण हट्टाने संपत्तीची भूक धरलेली नाही; एका शब्दाच्या आश्वासनानेही त्यांचे समाधान होईल. पण जर तेही आले नाही, तर तुका जाहीर करतात की ते आपला देहच नव्हे तर आपला सर्व अभिमानही ओवाळून टाकून, संपूर्ण शरणागती म्हणून अर्पण करण्यास तयार आहेत.
