Even without knowing how to serve, you can trust that God already knows your heart and ask for grace to free you from worldly bonds.
The verse
तुझा दास ऐसा म्हणती लोकपाळ । म्हणऊनि सांभाळ करीं माझा ॥१॥ अनाथाचा नाथ पतितपावन । हें आतां जतन करीं नाम ॥ध्रु.॥ माझें गुण दोष पाहातां न लगे अंत । ऐसें माझें चित्त मज ग्वाही ॥२॥ नेणें तुझी कैसी करावी हे सेवा । जाणसी तूं देवा अंतरींचें ॥३॥ तुका म्हणे तूं या कृपेचा सिंधु । तोडीं भवबंधु माझा देवा ॥४॥

लोक-पाळ-दास — सांभाळ. World-protectors-say-your-servant-claim. Thelōka-pālas (world-protectors, dignitaries) say 'your dāsa';therefore take sāmbhāḷa of me. (Reputation-leverage: I am known asyour servant; protect that name.)

अनाथ-नाथ — पतित-पावन — नाम-जतन. Protect-your-name-claim. Anātha-nātha (orphan-protector), patita-pāvana (saver-of-the-fallen);now do jatana (protection, careful-keeping) of (your own) nāma. (You have these names — fulfill them by protecting me.)

गुण-दोष-न-लगे-अंत — चित्त-ग्वाही. Virtues-faults-no-end-mind-is-witness-claim. Looking at myguṇa-dōṣa, no end is found;such is my chitta — (it is) gvāhī (witness) to me. (My own mind is the witness — there are endless faults.)

सेवा-नेणें — Dēva-अंतर-जाणसी. Don't-know-how-to-serve-you-know-interior-claim. I don't know how to do yoursēvā;you, Dēva, know what's in the antara.

Tuka: कृपा-सिंधु — भव-बंधु-तोडीं. Kṛpā-ocean-break-bond-claim. Tuka says: you are thekrpā-simdhu (ocean-of-kṛpā);break my bhava-bamdhu (worldly-bond), O Dēva.

For someone today
People already call you God's servant — Tukaram takes that reputation and asks God to live up to it by taking care of him. He doesn't hide his flaws: looking honestly at himself, he finds no end to his faults, and his own mind is witness to that. He admits he doesn't know how to serve properly, but trusts that God already knows what's in his heart, so the not-knowing isn't a barrier. In the end what he asks for is simple — for the ocean of grace to cut through the bonds that keep him tied to the world.
मराठी: लोक आधीच तुला देवाचा सेवक म्हणतात — तुकाराम हीच ओळख वापरून देवाला विनंती करतात की, त्याने त्याची काळजी घ्यावी. तो आपले दोष लपवत नाही — स्वतःकडे प्रामाणिकपणे पाहिलं तर दोषांना अंत दिसत नाही, आणि त्याचं स्वतःचं मन याचं साक्षीदार आहे. त्याला सेवा कशी करावी हे नीट माहीत नाही, पण त्याचा विश्वास आहे की देवाला त्याच्या मनातलं सगळं आधीच माहीत आहे, त्यामुळे हे अज्ञान अडथळा ठरत नाही. शेवटी तो एवढंच मागतो — कृपेच्या सागराने त्याला बांधून ठेवणाऱ्या ऐहिक बंधनांतून मुक्त करावं.
