Abhanga 1068

Since God has named himself the ocean of mercy and savior of the fallen, the devotee can bring every failure honestly and trust that mercy, not personal perfection, does the untangling.

A we-the-fallen-place-the-riddle-it-falls-to-you-as-puzzle-to-untangle-in-our-conduct-faults-we-don't-keep-care-the-decision-untangling-is-in-your-hands-without-taking-a-coin-do-the-fancy-work-when-called-by-the-name-O-Dēva-ocean-of-mercy-name-saver-of-the-fallen-these-words-have-come-into-our-hands-we-will-commit-crores-of-injustice-but-you-are-merciful-in-your-belly abhang. Krpāvanta-in-pōṭa register. Five claims (the we-leverage-your-name prayer):

1. पतित-सांकडें — कोडें-उगवणें. Place-the-riddle-claim. Wepatitasshould placesānkaḍē (riddle, difficulty); to you it falls askōḍē (puzzle) to ugavaṇē (untangle). (We commit; you have to clean up the mess.)

2. आचर-दोष-न-संभाळ — निवाड-उकल. Decision-in-your-hands-claim. Inācara-dōṣa(conduct-faults) we don't keepsāmbhāḷa;the nivāḍa-ukala (decision-untangling) is in your hātī.

3. कवडी-न-घेतां — कुढावा — नाम-साठीं. Without-coin-take-trouble-claim. Without takingkavaḍī (a small-coin, payment), do kuḍhāvā (fancy-work / take-trouble); when called bynāma, Dēva. (You work without pay — just for the name's sake.)

4. दया-सिंधु — नाम-पतित-पावन — वचन-सांपडलें. These-words-came-to-our-hands-claim. Dayā-sindhu, nāma patita-pāvana;these vacana (titles, names) have sāmpaḍalē (come-into-our-hands). (Wehave these names of yours to leverage.)

5. Tuka: अन्याय-कोटी — कृपा-पोटीं. Crores-of-injustice-but-merciful-claim. Tuka says: we will commitkōṭi(crores, ten-millions) ofanyāya;(but) you, Dēva, are krpāvanta in pōṭa. (We commit crores of injustices; but you carry krpā in your belly — so you'll absorb them.)
