Abhanga 1125
Tukaram bows to Vishnu as the boundless form of the whole universe, calling him both mother and father. He admits he is only a poor, humble servant with one small request: please listen to a single word. Even the Vedas, after praising endlessly, grew tired and could only say "not this, not this" — and countless sages, saints, and poets who have tried to describe God's virtues have never reached the end of them. So Tuka wonders what his own small voice could possibly add to such infinite praise, yet he offers it anyway.

नमो विष्णुविश्वरूपा मायबापा । अपरा अमुपा पांडुरंगा ॥१॥ विनवितों रंक दास मी सेवक । वचन तें एक आइकावें ॥ध्रु.॥ तुझी स्तुति वेद करितां भागला । निवांत चि ठेला नेति नेति ॥२॥ ॠषि मुनि बहु सिद्ध कविजन । वर्णितां ते गुण न सरती ॥३॥ तुका म्हणे तेथें काय माझी वाणी । जे तुझी वाखाणी कीर्ती देवा ॥४॥
Literal translation
Viṣṇu-viśva-rūpa māya-bāpa — aparā amupā — Pāṇḍuranga. Ranka dāsa sēvaka — vacana ēka. Vēda bhāgalā — nivānta neti-neti. Ṛṣi-muni-siddha-kavi-jana — guṇa na saratī. Tuka says: mājhī vāṇī — vākhāṇī kīrti.
