Bhakti itself is the crown jewel of a life; no scripture, title, or reputation outranks simple loving devotion.

वैष्णवांची कीर्ती गाइली पुराणीं । साही अठरांजणीं चहूं वेदीं ॥१॥ ऐसे कोणी दावा ग्रंथांचे वाचक । कर्मठ धार्मिक पुण्यशील ॥ध्रु.॥ आदिनाथ शंकर नारद मुनेश्वर । शुका ऐसा थोर आणिक नाहीं ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे मुगुटमणी हे भक्ति । आणीक विश्रांति अरतिया ॥३॥

Vaiṣṇavas' fame sung in Purāṇas — six-and-eighteen — and four Vēdas. Such — show me, ye text-readers — karma-strict, dhārmic, puṇya-śīla. Ādi-nātha Śankara, Nārada Munēśvara — no other as great as Śuka. Tuka says: bhakti is the crown-jewel — rest is simply rest-and-tiredness.

The opening — scriptural-glorification of Vaiṣṇavas: Vaiṣṇavāñcī kīrtī gā'ilī Purāṇī — sāhī aṭhārāñjaṇī chahūm Vēdī — Vaiṣṇavas' fame sung in Purāṇas — six-and-eighteen and four Vēdas. The Vaiṣṇavas glorified-in 6 (Śāstras) + 18 (Purāṇas) + 4 (Vēdas) — the entire Sanskrit-canon.
