Abhanga 2062

Sincere inner remembrance and quiet service, not outward ritual or display, are what truly reach God.

When you feel separated from someone or something you love and the longing itself becomes a form of closeness.

When you simplify your practice down to honest remembrance instead of piling on rituals.

When you let your own heart be the judge of whether your devotion is real, without needing outside validation.

The verse

फळाची तों पोटीं । घडे वियोगें ही भेटी ॥१॥ करावें चिंतन । सार तें चि आठवण ॥ध्रु.॥ चित्त चित्ती ग्वाही । उपचारें चाड नाहीं ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे देवा । पावे अंतरींची सेवा ॥३॥ ॥१५॥

Literal translation

The fruit is in the belly — even by viyoga the meeting happens. Do chintana — essence is recollection. Chitta is chitta's witness — no need for upachāra. Tuka says: Deva — inner sēvā reaches (you). ॥15॥

Fruit-in-belly-viyoga-becomes-meeting + chitta-witnesses-chitta + 15-cluster-closer abhang. CLOSES 15-ABHANG BHAKTA-LORD-BARGAIN CLUSTER (2048-2062).

The opening paradox: phaḷāchī tōm pōṭīm — ghaḍē viyōgē hī bhēṭī — the fruit is in the belly — even by viyoga the meeting happens. The fruit (of bhakti) is-already-in-the-belly; even-during-separation the-meeting-occurs. Viyoga itself-is-meeting (= in deep yearning, the beloved is most-present).

The chintana-essence: karāvē chintana — sāra tē chi āṭhavaṇa — do chintana — essence is recollection. Chintana (contemplation) — its-essence is-recollection (āṭhavaṇa).
