The verse
प्रेम अमृताची धार । वाहे देवा ही समोर ॥१॥ ऊर्ध्ववाहिनी हरिकथा । मुगुटमणि सकळां तीर्थां ॥ध्रु.॥ शिवाचें जीवन । जाळी महादोष कीर्तन ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे हरि । इची स्तुति वाणी थोरी ॥३॥
Literal translation
The stream of prema-amṛta — flows even before the Lord. Upward-flowing Hari-kathā — crown-jewel of all tīrthas. Śiva's-life — the kīrtana burns mahā-dōṣas. Tuka says: Hari — the praise-vāṇī of [Hari-kathā] is great.
What it means
HARI-KATHĀ-AS-UPWARD-FLOWING + CROWN-JEWEL-OF-ALL-TĪRTHAS ABHANG.
THE CELEBRATED LINE: ūrdhva-vāhinī Hari-kathā — muguṭa-maṇi sakaḷām tīrthām — upward-flowing Hari-kathā — crown-jewel of all tīrthas. Ūrdhva-vāhinī = upward-flowing (against gravity, unlike ordinary rivers). Muguṭa-maṇi = crown-jewel. Hari-kathā is upward-flowing (unlike-rivers-which-flow-downward); it's the crown-jewel of-all-tīrthas. A striking-image — Hari-kathā transcends-the-natural-gravity-of-samsāra and-flows-upward toward-the-Lord; it surpasses-all-tīrtha-rivers as-the-crown-jewel.
The Śiva-life-and-kīrtana: Śivāchē jīvana — jāḷī mahā-dōṣa kīrtana — Śiva's-life — the kīrtana burns mahā-dōṣas. Śiva's-very-life is Hari-kathā; the kīrtana burns mahā-dōṣas.
