Abhanga 2499

A real bond survives honest complaint and frustration when you meet it with patience, because the one you trust is steadier than the small illusions that shake ordinary relationships.

When you are upset with someone close to you but still want the relationship to hold.

When you admit to yourself that you chose poorly and the trouble is partly your own doing.

When you choose patience over walking away after an honest, frustrated argument.

The verse

द्या जी माझा विचारोनियां विभाग । न खंडे हा लाग आहाचपणें ॥१॥ किती नेणों तुम्हां साहाते कटकट । आम्ही च वाईंट निवडलों ते ॥ध्रु.॥ करवितां कल्हें जिवाचियेसाटीं । हे तुम्हां वोखटीं ढाळ देवा ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे धीर कारण आपुला । तुम्हीं तों विठ्ठला मायातीत ॥३॥

Literal translation

Give my share thoughtfully — this connection doesn't break by superficiality. How much you bear bother — we chose-the-bad. Getting fuss-done for life — dirty-tricks, Dēvā. Tuka says: patience is my reason — you, Viṭhṭhal, are beyond māyā.

What it means

THE VIṬHṬHAL-BEYOND-MĀYĀ ABHANG.

The closing-claim: tumhīm tōm Viṭhṭhalā māyātīta — you, Viṭhṭhal, are beyond māyā. Patience is-the-bhakta's-side; Viṭhṭhal-is-beyond-māyā — so the relationship-is-firm.
