Abhanga 2515
For today: all burden on you ; whatever work I do, my service is your Name ; gives nothing, asks nothing — just clings to feet .
The verse
Literal translation
My heavy burden — now all on you. Became your servant — lost the prior. Whatever work I do — my service is your Name. Tuka clings to feet — gives nothing, asks nothing.
What it means
THE WORK-IS-SERVICE-NAME-IS-WORK ABHANG.
The work-service equation: karitōm jē kāma — mājhī sēvā tujhē nāma — whatever work I do — my service is your Name. Whatever-work-I-do, MY-SERVICE = YOUR-NAME. A formula for-integrating-bhakti-with-householder-work: every-action is-bhakti, with-the-Name-as-the-actual-service.
The non-transaction: Tukā pāyām lāgē — kāmhīm nēdī nā na magē — Tuka clings to feet — gives nothing, asks nothing. Gives-nothing, asks-nothing — just-clings-to-the-feet. Pure-niṣkāma-bhakti.
