Abhanga 2530

Real relief comes from asking directly for release rather than endlessly managing more burden or piling debt on debt.

When you realize solving one debt with another debt only adds more strain.

When you feel bold enough to ask plainly for help instead of quietly struggling on.

When old disputes and complications pile up and you want them cleared for good.

The verse

आपुल्या आपण उगवा लिगाड । काय माझें जड करुन घ्याल ॥१॥ उधारासी काय उधाराचें काम । वाढवूं चि श्रम नये देवा ॥ध्रु.॥ करा आतां मजसाटीं वाड पोट । ठाव नाहीं तंटे जालें लोकीं ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे बाकी झडलियावरी । न पडें वेव्हारीं संचिताचे ॥३॥

Literal translation

Settle your own knot — why take my burden. What use is loan for loan — don't keep growing effort, Dēvā. Now make a big-belly for me — no place, disputes happened. Tuka says: once balance cleared — no falling in business of sanchita.

The opening-demand: āpulyā āpaṇa ugavā ligāḍa — settle your own knot. You-settle-your-own-knot; why-take-my-burden? Bhakta-demands the-Lord-handle-his-own-affairs.
