Abhanga 2531
When ordinary company leaves you drained, holding fast to one true, steady presence is what restores you.
When you feel disillusioned or exhausted by the company you keep.
When you choose to hold on tightly to your faith instead of letting go during hard times.
When you long for a sacred place or practice that can renew your worn-out spirit.
The verse
सर्व संगीं विट आला । तूं एकला आवडसी ॥१॥ दिली आतां पायीं मिठी । जगजेठी न सोडीं ॥ध्रु.॥ बहु जालों क्षीदक्षीण । येणें सीण तो नासे ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे गंगवास । बहु त्या आस स्थळाची ॥३॥
Literal translation
Disgust came in all company — only you I love. Now gave embrace at feet — won't let go, Jagajēṭhī. Became hungry-thin — this exhaustion destroys. Tuka says: Gangā-dwelling — much hope for that place.
