Abhanga 2532
For today: foot-water cooler than cool — my father's tīrtha .
When you seek coolness and relief for a mind worn out by guilt or worry.
When you realize sacredness can be found in something ordinary and close at hand.
When you feel swept up in quiet devotional joy in a familiar setting.
The verse
शीतळ तें शीतळाहुनी । पायवणी चरणींचें ॥१॥ सेवन हे शिरसा धरीं । अंतरीं हीं वरदळा ॥ध्रु.॥ अवघें चि नासी पाप । तीर्थ बाप माझ्याचें ॥२॥ बैसोनियां तुका तळीं । त्या कल्लोळीं डौरला ॥३॥
Literal translation
Cooler than cool — foot-water at feet. Hold this drink on head — inside-as-boon. Destroys all pāpa — my father's tīrtha. Tuka sat below — swayed in those waves.

The image: śītaḷa tē śītaḷāhuni — pāya-vaṇī charaṇīñchē — cooler than cool — water-of-feet at-feet. Cooler-than-cool — the water-of-the-Lord's-feet. Foot-water as supreme-tīrtha.
