Abhanga 2548
When you have staked your pride on a public claim of devotion, ask that it be made real, because there is no one else left to appeal to.
When you've made a public commitment and worry it will turn out to be an empty boast.
When you're insisting stubbornly on something and need it to become real rather than just words.
When you realize there's no one else to turn to and your whole trust rests on one bond.
The verse
Literal translation
Will my pride become false — bridāvaḷī shown to people. Make my tantrum true — come, embrace, Pāṇḍurangē. Who else can I call — no plea to another. Tuka says: here is my recognition — by feet I'll be happy.
What it means
THE MAKE-MY-TANTRUM-TRUE ABHANG. Bhakta's-pride-staked on-Lord's-response.
[T]
For someone today
