Abhanga 2550
A heartfelt plea should never be dismissed as empty words, because real longing seeks nothing worldly, only genuine closeness with the divine.
The verse
Literal translation
Don't take my words as superficial — kaḷavaḷā-debate I do. What strength have I — we servants invoke karuṇā. What care for worldly — anubhava is sufficient. Bribed-word-tantrum — by haggling, mind close. Feels you'll fulfill hope — but you've stuck madness on body. Tuka says: here is my love — śrī-mukha-association desired.
What it means
THE KAḶAVAḶĀ-DEBATE + ŚRĪ-MUKHA-ASSOCIATION-DESIRE ABHANG.
[T]
For someone today
For today: here is my love — desire śrī-mukha-association.
