Abhanga 2553
Once closeness with the divine becomes a true habit of the soul, even a single moment of distance feels unbearable.
When a daily practice has become such a habit that skipping it feels genuinely unbearable.
When you realize you can no longer tolerate even brief distance from someone or something you love.
When a disagreement arises but the underlying bond you have with someone doesn't loosen at all.
The verse
याची सवे लागली जीवा । गोडी हेवा संगाचा ॥१॥ परतें न सरवे दुरी । क्षण हरीपासूनि ॥ध्रु.॥ जालें तरी काय तंट । आतां चट न संटे ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे चक्रचाळे । वेळ बळें लाविलें ॥३॥
Literal translation
Habit set in jīva — sweetness-envy of association. Doesn't go distant — even a kṣaṇa from Hari. Even if happens, what dispute — now stickiness doesn't break. Tuka says: wheel-spin — time forcibly attached.
