Abhanga 2561
For today: sajjana's fame is to fulfill the ārti of the weak .
When you're choosing between humble but good company and impressive but empty company.
When someone further along a path offers to guide you and you have to decide whether to follow.
When you notice someone in real distress and feel the pull to look away instead of helping.
The verse
Literal translation
By association comes the row's gain — anubhava is in non-glory. Let us be as we are, on the path of those ahead — they take hand at feet, conducting. Upakārī sees no distress — always dayā for others in chitta. Tuka says: then sajjana's fame — fulfill the ārti of the weak.
What it means
THE SAJJANA-FULFILLS-ĀRTI-OF-WEAK ABHANG.
