Abhanga 2573
For today: debate with you brings only disgrace — I peacefully watch the feet .
When you are tempted to argue with an outcome you cannot control
When you notice yourself holding onto a resentment you don't really mean
When you are waiting on events to unfold and must decide whether to argue or simply watch calmly
The verse
समर्थपणें हे करा संपादणी । नसतें चि मनीं धरिल्याची ॥१॥ दुसर्याचें येथें नाहीं चालों येत । तरि मी निवांत पाय पाहें ॥ध्रु.॥ खोटियाचें खरें खरियाचें खोटें । मानलें गोमटें तुम्हांसी तें ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे तुम्हां सवें करितां वाद । होईंजेतें निंद जनीं देवा ॥३॥
Literal translation
Accomplish by your master-power — don't keep [thoughts] of what's not in mind. Another's authority doesn't work here — so I peacefully watch the feet. False made true, true made false — beautiful for you. Tuka says: doing debate with you — becomes disgraced among people, Dēvā.
