Abhanga 2575

For today: all-authority-holder Hari — jīva gives itself as gift .

When you are struggling with foolish attachments and need to trust that grace can burn them away
When you feel you have little to give in return for the blessings you have received
When you want to offer your whole self back out of gratitude rather than obligation

The verse

Literal translation

All-authority-holder — must Hari be like this. But by kṛpā's-source — madness is to be cooked/burned. In body sarva-uttama — wholly pūrṇa-kāma. Tuka says: giver — then this jīva gives [itself as] gift.

What it means

THE ALL-AUTHORITY-HOLDER + JĪVA-GIVES-ITSELF-AS-GIFT ABHANG.

The closing: Tukā mhaṇē dātā — tari hā jīva dāna dētāTuka says: giver — then this jīva gives [itself as] gift. You-are-the-giver; then THIS jīva gives-itself-as-the-gift back. The reciprocal-gift-economy of bhakti.
