Abhanga 2577
In deep union with the divine, separateness dissolves completely, like water becoming sky, and even beginnings and endings fold into one another.
The verse
Literal translation
Water became sky-essence — all lost in one. Now what discrimination — its waves are in itself. Where would come a break-leave — self contained in self. Tuka says: kalpa passed — setting went to rising.
What it means
THE WATER-BECAME-SKY NON-DUAL-MERGE ABHANG.
The opening-image: nabhō-maya jālē jaḷa — ēkīm sakaḷa harapalē — water became sky-essence — all lost in one. Water became-sky-essence (evaporation/dissolution-into-the-vast); all-things-lost in-one. A celebrated non-dual-merge image parallel-to 2474's salt-in-water + fire-camphor + one-flame.
The waves-in-itself: tyāchyā laharī tayānta — waves are in itself. Once water-becomes-sky, what-was-water's-wave is in-the-thing-itself.
The self-contained: āpa kōṇḍī āpaṇyām — self contained in self. Self is-now-self's-own-container.
[T]
For someone today
For today: water became sky-essence — all lost in one; waves in itself — no break.
