Abhanga 2581
For today: bhakti-fortune's-limit — give by joining prema ; don't honor with dry words .
When you notice you are talking about devotion more than actually living it
When your words or prayers feel dry and you want them to carry real feeling
When you are tempted to sound impressive rather than simply being sincere
The verse
काय बोलों सांगा । याउपरी पांडुरंगा ॥१॥ कांहीं आधारावांचून । पुढें न चले वचन ॥ध्रु.॥ वाढे ऐसा रस । कांहीं करावा सौरस ॥२॥ भक्तिभाग्यसीमा । द्यावा जोडोनियां प्रेमा ॥३॥ कोरड्या उत्तरीं । नका गौरवूं वैखरी ॥४॥ करी विज्ञापना । तुका प्रसादाची दाना ॥५॥
Literal translation
What shall I speak — further, Pāṇḍurangā. Without any support — words don't go ahead. Such rasa grows — make some sweetness. Bhakti-fortune's-limit — give by joining prema. With dry words — don't honor in vaikharī. Tuka petitions — for prasāda's gift.
