A useful anubhava-testimony template. This is my lived-experience: bhakti-bhāva is the fortune; Nārāyaṇa has been made debtor — not a moment separated; placing the burden on his head, all worry has been dispelled; in exchange for words, the Name held in the throat. The verse permits first-person anubhava-claim. The bhāgya is bhakti-bhāva itself — not external-results. The diagnostic: has the chintā been vāralī (dispelled)? If yes, the bhāra-māthām surrender has worked.
The verse
हा गे माझा अनुभव । भक्तिभाव भाग्याचा ॥१॥
केला ॠणी नारायण । नव्हे क्षण वेगळा ॥ध्रु.॥
घालोनियां भार माथा। अवघी चिंता वारली ॥२॥
तुका म्हणे वचन साटीं । नाम कंठीं धरोनि ॥३॥
Literal translation
Hā ge mājhā anubhava — this — my anubhava (lived-experience); bhakti-bhāva bhāgyāñcā — bhakti-bhāva is (the bhāgya — fortune). Kelā rṇī Nārāyaṇa — Nārāyaṇa has been made rṇī (debtor); navhe kṣaṇa veGaḷa — not (separated) a kṣaṇa (moment) apart. Ghālōnīyām bhāra māthām — placing the bhāra (burden) on (his) head; avaghī chintā vāralī — all chintā (worry) has been vāralī (averted, dispelled). Tukā says: vachana sāṭīm — in exchange (sāṭīm) for words; nāma kaṇṭhī dharōnī — holding the Name in the throat.
What it means
A short anubhava-testimony verse. Hā ge mājhā anubhava — bhakti-bhāva bhāgyāñcā — this is my anubhava — bhakti-bhāva is the bhāgya (fortune). The bhakta testifies personally: my own experience tells me — bhakti-bhāva itself is the fortune (not external-fortunes that bhakti-might-bring).
The dhrūpada: kelā rṇī Nārāyaṇa — navhe kṣaṇa veGaḷa — Nārāyaṇa has been made debtor — not a moment separated. The covenant-claim: Nārāyaṇa has become my debtor (by my bhakti-bhāva); we are not separated for a single kṣaṇa. The intimacy is total.
The second verse names the mechanism: ghālōnīyām bhāra māthām — avaghī chintā vāralī — placing the burden on (his) head — all worry has been dispelled. The bhāra-māthām-ghālaṇē (burden-on-the-head-placing) is the surrender-action; the result is avaghī chintā vāralī — all worry dispelled.
The close: vachana sāṭīm — nāma kaṇṭhī dharōnī — in exchange for words — holding the Name in the throat. Vachana sāṭīm (in exchange for words, in barter for utterance) — the bhakta gives words; receives the Name-in-the-throat. The kaṇṭhī dharōnī (holding in the throat) — the Name is held-at-the-throat constantly.
