Tukārām: I've-become-lampaṭa at-Gōvinda's-feet — daily-fresh-āvaḍī.
The verse
खेळों मनासवें जीवाच्या संवादें । कौतुक विनोदें निरांजनी ॥१॥
पचीं पडिलें तें रुचे वेळोवेळां । होतसे डोहळा आवडीस ॥ध्रु.॥
एकांताचें सुख जडलें जिव्हारीं । वीट परिचारीं बरा आला ॥२॥
जगाऐसी बुद्धि नव्हे आतां कदा । लंपट गोविंदा जालों पायीं ॥३॥
आणीक ते चिंता न लगे करावी । नित्य नित्य नवी आवडी हे ॥४॥
तुका म्हणे धडा राहिला पडोन । पांडुरंगीं मन विसांवलें ॥५॥
Literal translation
Play-with-mana-by-jīva-samvāda — kautuka-vinoda-by-nirāñjanī. What's-cooked-tastes-again — pregnancy-cravings-for-āvaḍī. Ekānta-sukha-jaḍalē-jihvārī — vīṭa-from-paricara-came-well. Worldly-buddhi-won't-come — lampaṭa-at-Gōvinda's-pāya. No-other-chintā — daily-fresh-āvaḍī. Tukā: dhaḍā-settled — Pāṇḍurangī-mana-rested.
What it means
★ A beautiful 5-verse settled-state. I play with my mana in jīva's dialogue; what's-cooked-in tastes again-and-again; ekānta-sukha has settled in the heart; revulsion-from-worldly-service came well; worldly-buddhi won't return — I'm clinging at Gōvinda's feet; daily-fresh love; mana has rested in Pāṇḍurangī. The lampaṭa Gōvindā jhalōm pāyī line (I-clinging-at-Gōvinda's-feet) is striking — lampaṭa is usually a pejorative for lustful-cling; Tukārām reclaims it for bhakti.
