What it means
★★ THE most-specific 6-verse anti-hypocrite-householder polemic — a canonical satirical-mirror, daily-quoted across Maharashtra. (See six contrast-pairs above.) The structural device is the paired-contrast: each verse names what the hypocrite does generously and what he denies the sant/virtuous-recipient. The closing spit-on-his-face (cf. 3741) is the harshest. The six contrasts: feasts-relatives-vs-thōmbarā-for-sants; beats-cow-vs-grooms-horse; flowers-to-prostitute-vs-no-piece-for-brāhmaṇa; no-dharma-on-festival-vs-lavish-at-royal-door; listless-for-kīrtana-vs-dice-day-and-night; feeds-wife's-relatives-vs-throws-out-mother-father. Companion to 3052/3053/3056/3057 (4-abhang anti-distorted-priorities cluster) and 3741 (vinōda-kathā polemic).
