Tukārām's make-yours-assure-no-fear; āvō-māya-Viṭṭhalē; in-jīva-dwell-not-separate canonical mother-cry
The verse
Literal translation
Make-yours-assure-don't-fear. Held-feet — āvō-māya-Viṭṭhalē. Know-śīṇa-chintā — make-śama. Tukā: in-jīva-dwell — not-separate.
What it means
A 3-verse mother-cry. Take me, make me yours; give the assurance — don't-fear. So I have held your feet — O mother Viṭṭhal! You know my fatigue and worry — make peace now. In my soul you dwell — I am not separate. The address āvō māya Viṭṭhalē (feminine vocative) is the most-tender mother-form.
For someone today
