Abhanga 4132
Tukaram declares that he no longer fears anyone or anything, because he draws his strength from Vithoba. That divine support has given him the courage not to get tangled up in the endless worries and sorrows of ordinary life. He calls God his champion and protector, saying that in that companionship there is simply no room left for fear or terror.
The verse
आतां आम्हां भय नाहीं बा कोणाचें । बळ विठोबाचें जालें असे ॥१॥
धीर दिला आम्हां येणें पांडुरंगें । न पांगों या पांगें संसाराच्या ॥२॥
तुका म्हणे माझा कैवारी हा देव । नाहीं भय भेव त्याच्या संगें ॥३॥
Literal translation
No-bhaya-of-anyone — Viṭhōbā-baḷa-ours. Pāṇḍuranga-gave-dhīra — won't-be-pānga-of-samsāra. Tukā: kaivārī-Deva — no-bhaya-bhēva-with-sanga.
What it means
A 3-verse fearlessness text. Now we have no fear of anyone — Viṭhōbā's strength is with us. Pāṇḍuranga has given us patience; we won't be entangled in samsāra's sorrows. This Deva is my champion — no fear or terror with his company. Pair with 3904 (Hari-bhakta-no-fear-foundational), 4080 (Kāḷa-is-mosquito ānanda-laḍū).
