Tukārām prays: like a widow's only-son, a good-son's-father, a pativratā's pati — you alone are everything to me; don't abandon me.
The verse
विधवेसि एक सुत । अहर्निशीं तेथें चत्ति ॥१॥
तैसा तूं मज एकला । नको मोकलूं विठ्ठला ॥ध्रु.॥
सुपुत्रालागीं बाप । अवघे तेथें चि संकल्प ॥२॥
तुका म्हणे चित्ति । पतिव्रते जैसा पति ॥३॥
Literal translation
Vidhavesi eka suta — aharniśīm tethe chitta: the widow has one son — day-night chitta is there. Taisā tūm maja ekalā — nako mokaḷūm Viṭhṭhalā: so you alone to me — do-not abandon (me), Viṭhṭhalā. Suputrālāgīm bāpa — avaghe tethe chi samkalpa: for a good-son, the father — all samkalpa is there. Tukā mhaṇe chittī — pativrate jaisā pati: Tukā says: in chitta — as the pati to a pati-vrata.
