Abhanga 4580

The verse

Literal translation

★★ Where-went-where-came — sahaja-vyāpaka-yes-no. Saca-bhāve-all-pervading — abhāvika-no-place-anywhere. No-empty-place — anubhavī-Deva-svayam-jālē. Going-coming-with-Deva — Tukā: singing-Deva-Nāma.

What it means

★★ A 4-verse non-dual-closing. The paradox: where-did-Lord-go-where-did-Lord-come-from — both-questions-resolve-since-he-is-sahaja-vyāpaka (naturally-all-pervading); for-saca-bhāva he-is-everywhere, for-abhāvika nowhere — no-place-is-empty. The radical claim: anubhavī Deva svayem jālēthe experiencer (himself) has become Deva. The bhakta-becomes-Deva-by-experience itself. Closing: we-come-and-go in-Deva's-company — singing-Deva-Nāma. Pair with 4579 (preceding Lord-took-us-along), 4581 (penultimate Tukārām-self-deprecation closing-prayer).

For someone today

Tukārām: where-did-the-Lord-go-where-from-came-he-is-naturally-all-pervading — for-the-faithful-everywhere-for-the-faithless-nowhere — no-place-is-empty — the-very-experiencer-has-become-Deva — we-go-and-come-in-his-company-singing-his-Name.
