Abhanga 497
Sincere devotion, like Pundalik's, can draw the divine out of its distant heaven to stand right beside you in your ordinary life.

For someone today
God left his heavenly home to stand on a humble brick, drawn there by the pure devotion of a single devotee, Pundalik. This tells you that intense, sincere love can bring the sacred into concrete presence in ordinary life. The image that resulted, standing on a brick with hands resting on the hips, became a lasting symbol of a divinity that is close and accessible rather than distant. You don't need grand gestures to reach the divine; sincere welcome is enough, and its arrival is cause for real, open celebration.
