Abhanga 508
This short verse is a moment of pure joy after a long-held wish finally comes true. Tukaram waves the lamp to Shripati and declares the day blessed, because a vow he had carried for a long time has at last been fulfilled. He turns to everyone gathered and tells them they too are fortunate simply for being present to witness it. Then, clapping in celebration, he says plainly that God was truly close by, right there with them, not distant or abstract.

करूनि आरती । आतां ओवाळूं श्रीपती ॥१॥ आजि पुरले नवस । धन्य जाला हा दिवस ॥ध्रु.॥ पाहा वो सकळा । पुण्यवंता तुम्ही बाळा ॥२॥ तुका वाहे टाळी । होता सन्निध जवळी ॥३॥

Doing āratī — now wave to Śrīpati. Today navasa fulfilled — dhanya this day. See, all of you — puṇyavanta children. Tuka claps ṭāḷī — He was sannidha — close-by.

मराठी: ही छोटी ओवी म्हणजे बऱ्याच दिवसांची इच्छा शेवटी पूर्ण झाल्यावरचा शुद्ध आनंदाचा क्षण आहे. तुकाराम श्रीपतीला आरती ओवाळतात आणि हा दिवस धन्य आहे असे जाहीर करतात, कारण त्यांनी बराच काळ जपलेला नवस अखेर पूर्ण झाला आहे. ते तिथे जमलेल्या सर्वांकडे वळून सांगतात की हे पाहण्यासाठी उपस्थित असणे हेच त्यांचेही भाग्य आहे. मग टाळी वाजवत आनंद साजरा करत ते साध्या शब्दांत सांगतात की देव खरोखर जवळ होता, दूर किंवा अमूर्त नव्हता तर तिथेच त्यांच्यासोबत होता.
