Abhanga 596
When God truly fills a person, worldly life tastes bitter by comparison, joy spills out of them unbidden as praise, and their contentment draws others toward them.

What it means
A deva-fed-jīva-samsāra-bitter-ānanda-burp abhang. Beautiful image-of-bhakti-satiety register. Three claims:
-
The opening-feeding-claim: the deva fed (dhālā) thejīva(life-soul); samsāra became kaḍū (bitter).Deva-feeding-makes-samsāra-bitter.Bhakti-satiety-makes-the-world-bitter-by-comparison.
-
ते चि येतील ढेंकर — आनंदाचे हरिहर — that — ḍhēnkara — will come — ānanda — Hari-Hara. The ānanda-burp-claim: that very (kind of)ḍhēnkara(burp, hiccup, after-meal-eructation) will come;of ānanda (joy)—Hari-Hara(Hari-and-Hara, Vāsudeva-and-Śiva). The fed-bhakta will burp the names of Hari and Hara as ānanda. (The ḍhēnkara image: when one is fed-full, the burp is a sign of satiety; the bhakta's-burp-is-the-deva-name-itself.)
-
वेधी आणिकांस — ऐसा जया अंगीं कस — तुका म्हणे भुक — येणें न लगे आणीक — vēdhī āṇikāmsa — anga — kasa — Tuka says: bhukha — by this — no other. The closing-magnetic-claim: vēdhī āṇikāmsa (one who magnetizes / pulls / draws others);such kasa (test-essence, touchstone-quality) is in his anga (body / presence);Tuka says: bhukha (hunger);by this (deva-feeding) — no other (food / hunger) is needed.The fed-bhakta-magnetizes-others; his anga-kasa is the touchstone; once-fed, no-other-hunger-arises.

For someone today
When God truly fills you, the ordinary sweetness of worldly life starts to taste bitter by comparison — not because the world got worse, but because you have tasted something better. A person who is genuinely satisfied by devotion does not have to force it; joy simply spills out of them, unbidden, like the burp that follows a full meal, and what comes out is the name of Hari and Hara. That same fullness makes their presence magnetic: others are drawn toward them without quite knowing why, because there is a felt, tested quality in how they carry themselves. Once this hunger is satisfied, no other hunger takes its place.
