Trusting God as a caring mother who carries every burden removes the fear of birth and death and makes ordinary life feel whole and joyful.

Literal translation

What it means

A deva-as-mother-bhāra-sakaḷa-iha-para-Vaikuṇṭha abhang. Five-verse fulfillment-with-mother-image register. Five claims:

1. देवा तूं आमचा कृपाळ — opening-mother: deva — kṛpāḷa — bhakti-pratipāḷa-dīna-vatsaḷa — māy-māulī-snēhāḷa — carry bhāra-sakaḷa. Mother-carries-all-bhāra.

2. तुज लागली सकळ चिंता — all-cintā-on-You: all cintā on You; guarding crooked-paths; entrust to saints; visambatā don't endure. Mother-watches-and-doesn't-leave.

3. आम्हां भय चिंता नाहीं धाक — no-fear-iha-para-Vaikuṇṭha: no bhaya-cintā-dhāka; janma-maraṇa nothing; iha-para both Vaikuṇṭha; sakaḷaika came. This-and-other-world-both-Vaikuṇṭha.

4. न कळे दिवस कीं राती — akhaṇḍa-jyōti: no day-or-night; akhaṇḍa jyōti lit; ānanda-lahari gati; kīrti to sukha. Continuous-light-ānanda.

5. तुझिया नामाचीं भूषणें — closing-nāma-as-ornament: Your nāma bhūṣaṇa; put on me as lēṇē; Tuka says: by Your guṇa — what uṇē? Nāma-as-ornament-no-deficiency.

With that certainty, the fear of birth and death loosens, and this world and the next both start to feel like the heaven you were looking for elsewhere. Wearing God's name like a piece of jewelry, day and night blur into one steady, joyful light, and nothing feels missing.
