When devotees lose themselves together in joyful praise of God, their pride, shame, and worry fall away, and they become like God himself.
The verse
पूजा पुज्यमान । कथे उभे हरिजन ॥१॥ ज्याची कीर्ती वाखाणिती । तेथें ओतली ते मुर्ती ॥ध्रु.॥ देहाचा विसर । केला आनंदें संचार ॥२॥ गेला अभिमान । लाज बोळविला मान ॥३॥ शोक मोह चिंता । याची नेणती ते वार्ता ॥४॥ तुका म्हणे सखे । विठोबा च ते सारिखे ॥५॥
Literal translation
Pūjā-pūjyamāna — kathā — ubhē — Hari-jana. Whose kīrti — praise — there — ōtalī — mūrti. Dēha-visara — ānanda-sancāra — done. Abhimāna — gone — lāja — māna — bōḷavilā. Śōka-mōha-cintā — vārtā — don't know. Tuka says: sakhē — Viṭhōbā — sārikhē.

A kathā-Hari-jana-pūjā-pūjyamāna-mūrti-poured-where-kīrti-praised-deha-forgotten-no-abhimāna-no-śoka-moha-cintā-like-Viṭhōbā abhang. Hari-jana-as-Viṭhōbā register. Five claims:

पूजा-पूज्यमान — कथेत-उभे-Hari-जन — कीर्ति-वाखाणिता-तेथें-मूर्ति-ओतली. Hari-jana-pūjā-pūjyamāna-mūrti-poured-claim. Pūjā and pūjyamāna (the worshipper and the worshipped both);the Hari-jana stand in the kathā; whosekīrtiis praised in thekathā— there, themūrtiisōtalī(poured-out, cast — as molten-metal poured into the mould of the kathā). Hari-jana-in-kathā-are-both-worshipper-and-worshipped-and-the-mūrti-is-poured-where-the-kīrti-is-praised.

For someone today
In a kirtan gathering, the devotees of Hari become both the worshippers and the ones worshipped: wherever someone's praise of God is sung, the divine presence takes shape right there among the listeners. Caught up in that joy, they forget their own bodies, and old worries about pride, honor, and shame simply fall away. They become so absorbed that sorrow, confusion, and anxiety don't even register as news to them anymore. Tukaram says these companions have become just like Viṭhōbā himself.
