Give God the same complete, undivided attention a devoted wife gives her husband or a miser gives his wealth, until nothing else competes for that place in your mind.

पतिव्रते जैसा भ्रतार प्रमाण । आम्हां नारायण तैशापरी ॥१॥ सर्वभावें लोभ्या आवडे हें धन । आम्हां नारायण तैशापरी ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे एकविध जालें मन । विठ्ठला वांचून नेणे दुजें ॥३॥

Pati-vratā — bhratāra — pramāṇa. Us — Nārāyaṇa — taisā-parī. Lōbhī — dhana. Us — Nārāyaṇa — taisā-parī. Tuka says: eka-vidha — mana — Viṭṭhal — duja — none.

For someone today
A devoted wife has one measure of truth in her life, her husband, and nothing else defines her world. A miser feels that same total absorption toward his wealth, thinking of it constantly, valuing nothing above it. Tukaram says this is exactly how his mind has come to hold Viṭṭhal, so completely that it no longer recognizes anything else as worth that place. He is not asking you to love money or to imitate blind devotion, he is asking you to notice how focused that kind of love already looks in ordinary people, and turn that same undivided attention toward God.
मराठी: पतिव्रता स्त्रीच्या आयुष्यात एकच खरा आधार असतो, तिचा पती, आणि तिच्यासाठी दुसरे काहीच महत्त्वाचे नसते. लोभी माणूस त्याच तीव्रतेने आपल्या धनावर मन लावतो, सतत त्याचाच विचार करतो, त्याहून मोठे काहीच त्याला वाटत नाही. तुकाराम म्हणतात की त्यांचे मन विठ्ठलावर अगदी अशाच प्रकारे एकाग्र झाले आहे, इतके की त्याशिवाय दुसरे काही त्याला दिसतच नाही. पैशावर प्रेम करा असे ते सांगत नाहीत, तर सामान्य माणसांतही असे एकनिष्ठ प्रेम किती तीव्र असू शकते हे दाखवून, तेच अखंड लक्ष देवाकडे वळवायला सांगतात.
