Abhanga 1176
Caught up in play and distraction, Tukaram says, we don't even realize we've wandered too far to easily find our way back. But time will eventually teach us the lesson anyway, whether we're ready for it or not. It's a quiet warning: don't wait for time to force the lesson when you could learn it now, on your own.
The verse
Literal translation
Āva na jānūm ramatē — kāla lagāvē sīkha.

For someone today
Caught up in play and distraction, Tukaram says, we don't even realize we've wandered too far to easily find our way back. But time will eventually teach us the lesson anyway, whether we're ready for it or not. It's a quiet warning: don't wait for time to force the lesson when you could learn it now, on your own.
Where this applies
- While-playing. Ramatē.
- Time-teaches. Sīkha.
