What it means
Bāla-Kṛṣṇa-iconographic ārtī. A 5-verse āratī celebrating Bāla-Kṛṣṇa's iconographic-form — peacock-feathers in crown, anklets at feet, throat-as-cuckoo. The opening: jhaḷakatī divya tējē danta māja pātaḷa — miravalīm mayōra-pattrēm muguṭa kuṇḍalēm māḷa — sparkles divine-radiance, teeth-(and)-waist-thin; peacock-feathers, crown, earrings, garland shine. The peacock-feather-crown is the Bāla-Kṛṣṇa-Vraja-iconography.
The Brahma-pada-in-adornment: hṛdayīm Brahma-pada bāṇalēm śṛngārīm — garjati caraṇīm vānkī kaṇṭha kōkaḷa-svarīm — in heart, Brahma-pada stayed in adornment; — anklets sound at feet, throat in cuckoo-voice. The Brahman-itself stays in his heart-as-ornament — Brahman-as-decorative-jewel in the playful Bāla-Kṛṣṇa-form.
The detail: kaṭi-sūtra vari sājirēm prabhā vara mōtiyāñcī — sangīta sakaḷa mudrā pā'ulēm kunkumācīm — waist-band beautiful, radiance best of pearls; entire postures musical, feet of kunkuma. Pearl-waist-band, kunkuma-stained-feet (= the cowherd-women's pūjā-marks).
The Yaśodā-blessing: āścarya Deva karitī ṛṣi rāhilē muni — dhanya tē prasavalī aisiyā Nanda-patnī — Devas amazed, ṛṣis-munis awestruck; blessed she who gave-birth — such — Nanda-patnī. Yaśodā is blessed for having given birth to such a divine-child. Striking Yaśodā-mātṛ-bhāgya image.
The closing-humility: udāra sura gambhīra pūrṇa ānanda-mūrti — Tukayā-bandhu mhaṇē stavūm mī kāya kitī — generous-godly-deep-full ānanda-mūrti; Tukayā-bandhu says: I praise — how much?
