Abhanga 1938
For today: thus Pandhari has been left behind — Vārakarīs come on the way; festivals seen are remembered — walking, they discuss; what kathā was made-and-heard — what remains in chitta is prēma; Garuḍa-flag, tāḷa, mṛdānga, banner — they tell each other the sukha; Tuka says — now they come swiftly — embracing arms, I'll give kṣēma.
The verse

What it means
Vārkarīs-leaving-Pandhari-discussing-festivals abhang. Post-letter narrative — the bhakta imagines the returning Vārkarīs.
The opening: aisī tē sāṇḍilī hō'īla Pandharī — yētē Vārakarī hōta vāṭē — Pandhari has been left behind — Vārakarīs come on the way. Continuation of 1937's departure-from-Pandhari.
The Vārkarī-procession items: garuḍa-ṭakē tāḷa mṛdānga patākā — Garuḍa-flag, cymbals, drum, banner. These are the classical Vārī-pilgrimage instruments — Garuḍa-banner (= the standard of Viṣṇu's mount), tāḷa (cymbals), mṛdānga (clay-drum), patākā (banner). The Vārkarīs march-with-these.
The chitta-prēma: kēlī aikilī hō'īla jē kathā — rāhilē tē chittī hō'ila prēma — what kathā was made-and-heard — what remains in chitta is prēma. The kīrtana-residue is prēma.
The closing: Tukā mhaṇē ātām yētī lavalāhīm — ālingūni bāhīm dē'ina kṣēma — now they come swiftly — embracing arms, I'll give kṣēma. Welcome-with-embrace-and-kṣēma.
