Abhanga 2579
Even though devotee and God share the same divine nature, fear can create unnecessary distance, until a sudden jolt breaks the illusion and calls you to stop, turn, and look honestly.
When you feel oddly distant from what you love, even though nothing truly separates you
When fear creates more distance in a relationship than the actual situation requires
When a sudden realization breaks an illusion and asks you to stop and look back honestly
The verse
आम्ही देव तुम्ही देव । मध्यें भेव अधीक ॥१॥ कैवाडाच्या धांवा लागें । मागें मागें विठ्ठले ॥ध्रु.॥ भेडसाविलें हाके नादें । वोळखी भेदें मोडिली ॥२॥ तुका म्हणे उभा राहे । मागें पाहे परतोनि ॥३॥
Literal translation
We Dēva, you Dēva — fear-in-between is more. Stronghold-of-run-protection — behind, behind, Viṭhṭhalē. Frightened by hake-sound — recognition by bheda broken. Tuka says: stand, look behind, turning.
