Abhanga 3122

Tukārām's non-dual realization. Deva has become all the people; my qualities-and-faults have vanished. Good has happened, good has happened — (my) mind is filled with great-gain. In the mirror, the second appears — but it is one. At the ocean-meeting — the water of the stream is lost. The verse permits the canonical bhakti-non-dual realization with mirror and sindhu-vāhāḷa images.

What it means

★ A pithy 3-verse non-dual-realization text by Tukārām.

The non-dual-claims: 1. Deva became-all-jana; my-guṇa-dōṣa-vanished 2. Good-good — chitti-filled-with-mahālābha 3. Mirror: the-second-appears but-it-is-one 4. Sindhu-bhēṭi: the-stream-loses-its-water (vāhāḷa-merges-into-sindhu)

★ The two-non-dual-images are striking: mirror-image (reflection-appears-as-second-but-is-one) and sindhu-vāhāḷa-merger (stream-loses-separate-existence in-ocean). Both-pithy-Advaita-images applied-to-bhakti-realization.

Compare-Tukārām's 3059 (non-dual-3-image: tree-seed, wave-water, bimba-chhāyā-vilaya), 2474 (lavana-water-samarasa).
