For someone today
Tukaram asks how many times you will let yourself be crushed by the ruin and pressure of worldly life before you turn for help. His answer is simple: go for refuge to the compassionate Pandurang, who stays close to anyone who trusts him. You don't need to ask for anything specific or cling to a particular plan for how things should turn out; when you place yourself in his care, good comes on its own. A single-hearted devotion, given over in service, is what carries you to that place of rest.
Where this applies
- When you feel suffocated by household pressures and money worries and don't know where to turn
- When you keep making the same self-defeating choices and sense you are heading toward ruin
- When you are tempted to bargain with a specific outcome instead of simply trusting and doing your part
- When you want relief but feel you first have to earn it by asking correctly or planning everything
