When true clarity finally arrives, darkness dissolves and nothing can stay hidden, even if it costs you everything to get there.
The verse
Literal translation
Jagad-ākāra-whitened — āndhāra-dispelled. No-place-to-hide — pragaṭa-spreads. Day-of-true-one-came — bōlā-can't-reach-vāḍhī. Tukā: jīva-cost — miṭhī-fell-on-dhurā.
What it means
A 3-verse darśana-text. The world-form is illumined; darkness is gone; on the day of the True-one no speech is adequate; at life-cost, an embrace falls.
For someone today
Tukārām describes the moment true clarity finally dawns. The whole world lights up and the darkness that once hid everything simply dissolves — there is nowhere left to hide, because everything now stands revealed. On the day truth arrives, words fall short; no amount of speaking can capture it. Tukārām says this breakthrough came at the cost of his very life, and in that moment an embrace finally landed on what he had been reaching for all along.
