Abhanga 3424

When you are weary, it is right to call out urgently and trust that grace is already rushing toward you like a parent to a tired child.

When you feel exhausted and just want to be picked up and cared for.
When you're waiting anxiously and need reassurance that help is on its way.
When you plead directly for relief instead of quietly enduring more delay.

The verse

Literal translation

You-ran-dhāvā — no-śrama-for-jīva. Pour-nectar-dhārā — take-lēnkara-into-vōsanga. No-delay-now — no-chintā. Tukā: tvarē — hurry-Viśvambhar.

What it means

A 3-verse mother-petition. You have already run for me; pour your nectar; pick me up like a baby; quickly, world-bearer.

For someone today

Tukaram calls out like a tired child who trusts that a loving parent has already started running toward them. He believes God won't let his soul grow weary waiting, that streams of grace will pour down like nectar the moment he's picked up and held close. He asks that there be no more delay, no more anxious waiting, and pleads directly, almost urgently, for God, the sustainer of the whole world, to hurry.
