Literal translation

Once-pōṭa-full, no-paratī; niśchintī — play-sweet. Give-kavaḷa-with-own-hand — Viṭhṭhal-cool-jīvana-on-top. Forget-house, dance-to-prema-chanda. Tukā: kara-kara-continues-until-then — uttara-breaks-off.

What it means

A 3-verse mother-feeds-baby text. When the belly is full, no return; give the mouthful with your own hand; I'll forget the house and dance to prema's rhythm; until then I'll keep asking — then this refrain will break off. Domestic-bhakti at-table.

For someone today

Tukārām: feed-me-with-your-own-hand; I'll-forget-the-house-and-dance.
