भागलों या खटपटे । घटपटें करितां ॥२॥
तुका म्हणे कृपावंता । माझी चिंता खंडावी॥३॥
Literal translation
Karma-vāṭas-overturned — great-āghāta. Come-quickly-come-quickly — take-me-by-hand. Exhausted-by-khaṭa-paṭa — doing-ghaṭa-paṭa. Tukā: krpā-vantā — break-my-chintā.
What it means
★ A 3-verse petition with a rare-explicit reference to scholastic-disputation. Ghaṭa-paṭa (pot-and-cloth) are the standard objects used in Nyāya-syllogism examples; Tukārām is sharply distancing himself from philosophical-logician's-debates and asking for immediate rescue. Compare 3399 (sant-lakṣaṇa, bolāchē gaurava against double-bhāva talk).
For someone today
Tukārām: I'm-tired-of-pot-and-cloth-debates; come-quickly.
Where this applies
- ★ Tukārām's anti-ghaṭa-paṭa-scholastic-debate canonical
- Rare-explicit reference to Nyāya-disputation
- Compare 3399 (anti-double-bhāva-talk)
